working with Anne

This was one of my favorite cakes so far. It was defiantly one of the most detailed ones. I got to help Anne with this cake. She is an amazing pastry chef and very talented.  I got to do the bottom layer, part of the next layer and the leaves. Thanks Anne for letting me help with this one. :)

Here is a preview of the new Wilton class coming in February.

Annoucing Wiltons new class " Advanced Gum Paste Flowers" !
The class will start in February. You do need to have taken the Fondant and Gumpaist class before you take this class. The class teaches the flowers shown above along with teaching the gerbera daisy and the stargazer lily. Ill post pictures of them latter. I'm so excited for this class! Wilton really makes them easy to learn and so much fun as well. I hope to see alot of you for fun with the new class. :)

Im back

I know I haven't posted for a while. Life kind of got crazy. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you enjoyed family and lots of turkey and pie.

For my Wilton classes I have posted your class pictures for the last couple of months. Take a look and see the beautiful cakes that have been made.

I love seeing the different levels of experience and seeing how well everyone does. Also, I love seeing the same love of the art of Cake decorating in their eyes as they discover the tricks and skills to make the cakes they dreamed of.

In the next month I'll share some of my favorite Holliday treats and there recipes as my gift to those who read my blog.

Happy Decorating and Happy Holidays.

Here is my Aug. 2011 Wilton Decorating basics class.

Here is the class of Aug. 2011 Wilton Decorating Basics. They were the first class to ask me to take their picture.  Look at the concentration on their faces. I love my job teaching cake decorating.  I get to watch the classes get excited about what they are learning.  Congratulations ladies on what you accomplished in the class. Your Final cakes show your hard work and concentration.  I've posted the cakes from your class on the decorating basics class page.

Stephanie

Here is my niece and her husband on there wedding day. Isn't she beautiful! I know I'm really late updating my blog. I'm catching up.
She had a chocolate caramel cake with Italian butter cream caramel icing. There is white chocolate fondant covering it that had hand painted fondant ribbons made to look like aspen bark. This cake was a survivor, it had a very ruff time driving up the canyon and needed to be repared once I got up there. Delivery is always the most stressfull time in doing a wedding cake. I'm glad it turned out well in the end as I wanted my nieces day to be the best ever.

A friend of my parents is a wood worker. he made the cake stand for me. He even made a new tool so he could make it.

Love you Stephanie and Slade.

Wilton Classes

I have updated my Wilton class pages. The pictures from the July classes are up!

Happy Smurfday!

This is a birthday cake for a fellow Smurf lover. I loved watching them as a kid. Happy Birthday Tyana.
The cake is a blue vanilla cake with a strawberry rhubarb cream filling. This has beautiful smurffet. There are a few royal icing flowers as well. My favorite is baker smurf. (no surprise there I'm sure.) I'm afraid I'm not much of a photographer, thus the fuzzy picture.
